Mission
Statement
The School of Shiatsu and Massage is dedicated to the education
and professional development of each of its students in the
Healing Arts and Bodywork domain. With a teaching approach
that honors Body-Mind-Spirit wholeness, personal growth and
transformation is nurtured. The aesthetic beauty and expansiveness
of its facilities creates an ideal environment for fresh new
beginnings in fresh new modalities.
Statement of Ownership
The Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association (WABA), a California Non-Profit Corporation, wholly owns the School of Shiatsu and Massage. School offices and WABA’s corporate office are located at 18424 Harbin Springs Rd, Middletown, CA 95461. The WABA Board of Directors for 2006 are: Andre Schaart, Bob McCormick, Harold Dull, Kathleen Christ, Michael Moss, Ron Isenstein, Theri Thomas and Vickie Lewis. Joyce Reim serves as the Director of the School of Shiatsu and Massage.
Professional Affiliations
The School of Shiatsu and Massage is is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education Provider under Category A. The California Board of Registered Nursing approves the School of Shiatsu and Massage as Continuing Education Provider number CEP6457. The School of Shiatsu and Massage is also approved by the Bureau for Private Post-Secondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE). Approval to operate means compliance with minimum standards and does not imply any endorsement or recommendation by the state or the bureau. BPPVE is the authority regulating California’s private post-secondary institutions and approving educational institutions for veterans under the G I Bill. The School of Shiatsu and Massage is not a public institution.
